1. Who we are
DodoReaper ("we", "us", "our") operates dodoreaper.com and related sub-domains. We are an independent fan platform for ARK: Survival Evolved and ARK: Survival Ascended, not affiliated with Studio Wildcard.
2. Information we collect
- Account data: username, email, password hash, avatar, and any profile fields you provide.
- Authentication providers: if you sign in via Discord, Google, or Steam, we receive your public profile and email from that provider.
- Content you submit: posts, comments, guides, screenshots, server listings, mod data, chat messages, and uploaded images.
- Technical data: IP address, user-agent, device type, language, referrer, and pages visited (used for security, rate-limiting, and analytics).
- Cookies & local storage: session tokens, theme preference, language, and analytics identifiers.
3. How we use your data
- To provide, secure, and improve the platform.
- To authenticate you and personalize your experience.
- To send transactional emails (verification, password reset, ticket replies).
- To detect abuse, spam, and prevent fraud.
- To produce aggregated, non-identifying statistics about platform usage.
4. Sharing & disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Service providers: hosting (Cloudflare, Vercel/Self-hosted), object storage (Cloudflare R2), email delivery, and analytics — all bound by data-processing agreements.
- Legal requirements: when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.
- Public content: anything you post publicly (guides, comments, screenshots, server listings) is visible to other users and search engines.
5. Your rights
You may at any time:
- Access, update, or correct your account information from your profile.
- Delete your account from your profile.
- Export your data on request.
- Object to processing or withdraw consent (which may limit functionality).
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority (EU/UK users have rights under GDPR; California users have rights under CCPA).
6. Data retention
Account data is retained as long as your account is active. Deleted accounts are purged within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or to resolve disputes. Backups are rotated within 90 days.
7. Cookies
We use strictly-necessary cookies for authentication and security, and optional cookies for analytics and personalization. You can disable cookies in your browser; some features may stop working.
8. Children
DodoReaper is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us so we can delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the site at least 14 days before they take effect.
